Cookie Policy

How Polarisy uses cookies and similar technologies on its website and in its apps.

1. The polarisy.com website

The website sets no advertising cookies. Without your consent, it sets only two strictly necessary cookies, which do not require your consent. The first, named lang, remembers the language you chose with the language switcher and is kept for one year. The second, named cookie_consent, remembers your answer to the cookie information banner and is kept for 180 days, after which the banner is shown to you again. The banner lets you accept all cookies or limit yourself to essential cookies, and you can change your choice at any time with the “Manage cookies” link in the footer of the website. If you accept all cookies, the home page also measures its audience with Google Analytics: number of visits, countries and websites visitors come from, sections viewed and clicks on the buttons of the page. Google Analytics then sets two cookies named _ga and ga followed by an identifier, kept for up to two years, and Google processes this data on our behalf. The advertising features of Google Analytics are switched off. If you choose essential cookies only, or later change your choice, Google Analytics is not loaded or is stopped and its cookies are deleted. During your visit, however, one resource provided by a third party is loaded: Google's typefaces. Your browser fetches them directly from Google's servers, which receive your IP address on that occasion. In addition, our server records technical logs containing your IP address, the date of the visit and the requested page, for security and for the proper operation of the website.

2. The Polarisy and Polarisy Studio apps

The apps use identifiers specific to your device, which fall into three categories.

The first category covers identifiers that are strictly necessary for the operation of the service, which are used to keep your session open and to verify that the requests received by our servers come from the genuine app, in order to prevent abuse. They do not require your consent.

The second category concerns error monitoring, which lets us make sure the app works properly and improve the quality of the user experience. This monitoring relies on our legitimate interest and you can object to it by writing to contact@polarisy.com.

The third category covers audience measurement and advertising, provided by Google, which are only activated with your consent. Audience measurement produces statistics on how the app is used, and advertising allows rewarded ads to be displayed, personalized or not depending on your choices.

The map is provided by Google and is part of the normal operation of the app. Notifications are only possible with the permission you give in your operating system settings.

3. Managing your choices

When you first launch the app, a form lets you accept or refuse audience measurement and ad personalization. You can change these choices at any time from the app. You can also delete your device's advertising identifier from Google settings then Ads on Android, or from privacy settings then Tracking on iOS. Location and notification permissions are managed in your device settings.

Refusing trackers that are not essential does not prevent you from using Polarisy.
